Non Resident Indians (NRIs) living in the USA have shown their dissent on the Supreme Court of India’s judgment on the Interpol’s Red Corner Notice in Bhavesh Jayanti Lakhani versus State of Maharashtra Case. They intend to canvass their local Congressmen and Senators as well as the US immigration department on the issue…

• This recent Supreme Court ruling that applies to Indian citizens should be forwarded to the US Justice Department requesting it to initiate extradition proceedings (against all those who have committed crimes in the USA and are being provided safe haven in India).
• Inform the International community saying that India is violating all the international treaties that it has signed and although it swears by INTERPOL, it does not respect Interpol Red Corner notices. Infact, even US citizen abductors hiding in India are being allowed to get away with their crimes.
• Anybody obtaining a potential immigrant visa from any US consulate in India should be made to sign an affidavit stating that they will abide by the judgments given by US courts.
• In cases of Parental Child Abduction from the USA to India, make it mandatory to not to issue American visas to the child kidnapping parent’s relatives and friends involved in planning and execution of the kidnapping.
• Impose sanctions against the child kidnapping parent’s relatives and friends involved in planning and execution of the kidnapping. In fact, the US Courts have already started imposing several financial penalties against the perpetuators of International Parental Child Abduction. In one case the US Courts have awarded damages in several million dollars against the abductor mother and her mother (and the grandmother was jailed when she returned to the USA in an attempt to dispose off her assets). In another case, an abductor mother who returned to the USA after 18 years thinking that the warrant against her must have lapsed found herself in jail soon after she tried to enter the USA.
• Since even the US citizen abductors are being allowed to get away with their crimes in India (simply because they are using influence or because of the easy to misuse laws and rampant corruption), the US government should initiate action in the international courts.
