I appreciate that the speakers engaged the participants in the discussion and very clearly and carefully resolved our queries (which I believe were aplenty, considering the novelty of the DPDP Act). It was an honour to receive a first –hand masterclass from such renowned personalities. Lastly, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Team Lex Witness for conducting the Workshop seamlessly.
I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the speakers during the workshop. Their explanations throughout the session were exceptionally precise and on target. By the workshop’s conclusion, I had gained a clear understanding of the rules of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. The speakers’ use of illustrative examples was highly effective and greatly contributed to my comprehension of the topic.

The Lex Witness workshop on data protection in Pune was an insightful and value-adding exploration of the data protection regime envisioned for business and govt entities in India. The value I derived from the workshop was due in large measure to the speakers’ experience in government & administrative affairs and their evident passion for the field of data protection. The workshop covered comprehensive ground on the DPDPA to the extent possible currently, while additional detailed supporting guidance around the DPDPA requirements is awaited (e.g. criteria for Significant Data Fiduciary categorisation, breach reporting requirements etc.).
Lively discussions with speakers & participants on various reallife scenarios and technical nuances brought to life the vision underpinning the DPDPA ’23, and outlined the various implementation factors (people, process, technology) that corporates need to consider in preparing for compliance. The compact class size helped ensure active participation from everyone and fostered a general camaraderie.
My only suggestion would be to increase the workshop duration to 1.5 days, logistics permitting, to do full justice to the course content and the speakers’ vast knowledge.
The event was extremely well organised and insightful. My only feedback would be to maybe share the reading material in advance so that more time could be spent during the workshop on discussions and interactive engagement. By way of example, every participant would’ve read the DPDPA already. The fun in the session is in discussing the grey areas so a bit of prior agenda setting and discussion topics would’ve helped make the workshop more interactive.
