Nina Gupta elected to Supreme Court’s Committee on Gender Sensitization and Internal Complaints

Nina Gupta, Advocate of 42 years standing has been elected to the Supreme Court Gender Sensitization and Internal Complaints Committee (GSICC). The Supreme Court GSICC is constituted to fulfil a very important public function of sensitizing the public to gender issues and to address any complaints made with regard to sexual harassment at the Supreme Court precincts.

The elections of two representatives of the Supreme Court Bar Association to GSICC were held today 28th January 2022 through electronic mode. Nina Gupta secured the highest number of votes followed by the second elected representative Somvir Singh Deswal. The tenure of the GSICC is two years. Nina Gupta is also a distinguished Member of the Executive Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association. She has done considerable work relating to POSH matters and issues.

Nina Gupta graduated in Economic Honours from Lady Shriram College, Delhi and LLB from Law Faculty, Delhi University. She has over three decades of experience when it comes to legal practice and has held several meritorious positions. She also specializes in labour and employment laws; aviation law; domestic and international arbitration; constitutional law; real estate; IT laws; incorporation of companies in India; banking law and medico legal cases.

She advises multinational companies like Microsoft, Accenture, Nokia etc. besides Indian business houses. She has been appointed as an Arbitrator by International Chamber of Commerce with regard to international disputes. As a part of professional social responsibility, she provides pro bono legal services to the poor and the needy.
