Khaitan & Co. Successfully opposed the grant of ad interim relief prayed by Ultra Distributors Private Limited, against Saregama India Limited in relation to the purported claims of exploitation of copyright of 26 cinematographic films in various platforms.

Ultra Distributors, a home video distribution company in India, instituted a Notice of Motion against Saregama India Limited for certain ad interim reliefs, alleging that Saregama India Limited has infringed the copyright in the audio visual rights of 26 films, the copyright of which are allegedly owned by Ultra Distributors. Saregama India Limited, represented by Khaitan and Co, successfully defended the Notice of Motion and the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay was pleased to dispose off the Notice of Motion and no ad interim or interim reliefs were granted to Ultra Distributors.
