Khaitan & Co. Advises Department of Disinvestment, Ministry of Finance in the sale of 9.5% stake in the country’s largest power producer NTPC Limited through Offer for Sale (OFS) route as part of the Government of India’s disinvestment programme. This was the largest capital market transaction in this fiscal year till now. The Issue received a good response and was over- subscribed 1.7 times. The total consideration for the transaction was USD 2 billion approximately (INR 11,469.39 Crores). Firm acted as Domestic Legal Advisors to the Government of India with concerned partners Nikhilesh Panchal and Sharad Vaid.
