Attorney General of India Unveils 3rd Edition of Shilpa M. Bhasin’s “All Battles Aren’t Legal”

The Attorney General of India, K.K. Venugopal, launched the 3rd edition of Shilpa Mehra Bhasin’s book, “All Battles Aren’t Legal”, in the city earlier this month.

Dubai-based lawyer Shilpa Mehra Bhasin was one of the juniors of Mr. KK Venugopal in 1990s. The book talks about her personal trauma when she was afflicted with meningitis in March 2003 that put her into a deep coma for 40 days followed by two and a half years of paralysis that incapacitated her from below her waist.

This book chronicles her personal battles, where her family stood by her as her support system. She recounts with gratitude and humour the herculean efforts she had to make to reclaim her life and all the factors that helped her in her recovery, including building a mental wall to ward off negativity. It navigates Shilpa’s personal journey to the other side only to come back to celebrate life.

Releasing the book, Mr. K.K. Venugopal said, “Shilpa’s undeterred resilience has helped her emerge victorious from a life- threatening battle. Her courage to share the story of her pain underscores her indomitable spirit. Shilpa’s staunch belief and her family’s love and hope have made it possible for her to overcome a challenge that had spelled the end of her life.”

Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President, SILF was present at the event.
