‘The Inner Voice’ – IWIRC India Organises a Virtual Leadership Session

IWIRC India in collaboration with IWIRC Korea Network organised the first non-technical, Soft Skills Session on ‘Mastering your Voice with CABI-Developing Greater Confidence and Discovering your Impactful Voice’. Conducted by veteran Gina Marescia, a leadership coach, facilitator and author, the session was organised as a part of International Women’s Day celebration.

The session was a great experience for most of its attendees as it covered some crucial aspects that helped attendees voice their opinions. The session was full of interactions and very engaging by way of polls conducted on typical challenges faced by the attendees concerning overall skill development, leadership enhancement, etc. The keynote speaker, Gina Marescia, encouraged all session attendees to describe in detail why or where they feel uncomfortable or underconfident in expressing their opinion.

The entire session revolved around CABI; a technique that Gina claims would help people in navigating their confidence to voice themselves;

C – Confidence & Courage
A – Articulating with impact
B – Branding
I – Inquiry

It is a direct pathway to substantial impact and presence for everyone, regardless of personality preferences, cultural background, situation, or stakeholder! The unique 4-step CABI™ model answers critical questions on how to:

  • Access your confidence and be courageous?
  • Be an impactful and credible communicator?
  • Find one’s leadership voice?
  • Live a reputation and brand that reflects you?
  • Be agile and dynamically navigate ANY interaction at work?

CABI is developed over two-decades and tried & tested with thousands of professionals, emerging and current leaders who have discovered their authentic voice and are making a difference. The session also talked about how people should access their confidence with self-trust and courage. She further emphasized techniques like recognizing their emotions, naming them, and then moving on. Additionally, she listed down specific other steps like positive self-talk, asking questions, and procedural suggestions. She addressed their concerns with practically applicable solutions and helped attendees be more confident overall.

CRITICAL FOCUS SESSIONS OF THE INTERACTIVE DISCUSSIONS;
  • Practical insights to find and master your voice
  • Empowering your voice with consistency at work
  • Success stories of professionals and leaders
  • Your experience when you have allowed your voice – ideas, views, opinions to be heard
  • Situations you need to be most heard on
  • Topics you need to have a view or opinion on
TO BRING PEOPLE TO INTERACT MORE AND TO UNDERSTAND THE AUDIENCE BETTER, GINA HAD RUN A FEW POLLS AS BELOW;
  • Has WFH made it easier or more difficult to voice your opinion?
  • What is the biggest challenge one faces while voicing their opinion at work? What gets in the way? What’s the doubt?
  • What situations do you need to have your voice most on?

Gina claims that no one needs to develop confidence; everyone has it as their birthright, and people need to figure out how to access it. One of the most exciting things about the session was the quick feedback. Gina had an interesting way of collecting feedback before starting any new discussion. She also, by the end, created three breakout sessions, where all participants got an opportunity to suggest their feedback and learnings from the session.
