The Amarchand Mangaldas team led by Mumbai based Managing Partner Cyril Shroff along with Finance Partner Leena Chacko and Corporate Partner Amita Choudary Katragadda acted as the legal counsel for Piramal Enterprises Limited which acquired approximately 10% equity stake in Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited. The stake was acquired through a block deal on the floor of the stock exchange from, private equity investor, TPG Capital (through TPG’s arm Newbridge India Investments II). The block deal size being approximately INR 1600 crores. Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited is primarily engaged in the business of financing of commercial vehicles. UBS Securities India Private Limited acted as the broker on this deal.
