The Amarchand & Mangaldas team led by Mumbai based Managing Partner Cyril Shroff and Corporate Partner Indranath Bishnu advised Singapore Airlines Limited which entered into a joint venture with Tata Sons Limited to establish a full-service airline in India.

Tata Sons Limited will hold 51% and Singapore Airlines Limited will hold 49% in the joint venture company, with the deal size being USD 100 million. This is the first transaction involving foreign investment in a greenfield venture in relation to a full service airline. The Foreign Investment Promotion Board has given its nod to Singapore Airlines for its investment to set up a full service airline in India in partnership with Tata Sons.
