On 23 October 2015, the English Court of Appeal delivered an important judgment in favour of Bank Mellat of Iran, represented by Zaiwalla & Co, in which the Court has held that the UK government is obliged to give sufficient information about the evidential case against the bank so far as to enable the bank to give effective instructions to its legal representatives in relation to allegations made against the bank involving national security implications.
