J. Sagar Associates acted for ChemChina in successfully securing Competition Commission of India (CCI)’s approval for ChemChina’s global acquisition of Syngenta, and advising on corporate law and regulatory issues in respect of the Indian leg of the transaction.

The multi-jurisdiction deal, valued at USD 44 billion (approx. INR 287,562 crores) was notified for merger clearance in a number of jurisdictions worldwide, including India. The deal received the CCI’s approval subject to modifications.
