J . Sagar Associates is advising Religare Enterprises Limited (Religare) for the merger of its 11 wholly owned subsidiaries, direct or indirect, with Religare. This is in continuation of the steps Religare has taken in the past few months to consolidate its portfolio of businesses and maintain a conscious India focussed strategy. Since May, 2016, Religare’s board of directors considered various options for simplification of the corporate structure in order to optimize resource allocation. The board of directors in its meeting on December 27, 2016 approved the scheme of amalgamation.
