Dhir & Dhir Associates represented Hindon River Mills Ltd in a matter where the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had acquired land (31.14 acres approx.) of the Company for construction of Dasna interchange on Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). The firm filed various writ Petitions before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi wherein the entire process of acquisition under the NHAI Act, 1956 was challenged. In addition to this, the quantification of compensation was also challenged wherein NHAI had granted compensation to the tune of ` 620 Million. The Hon’ble High Court of Delhi granted liberty to approach the Competent Authority to decide the issue of compensation.

The firm subsequently filed applications before the Ld. District Officer, (Arbitrator), Ghaziabad where the compensation sum was enhanced from ` 620 Million to approximately ` 1500 Million. The award has further been challenged before the District Magistrate, Ghaziabad seeking further enhancement and claiming approximately ` 17000 Million.
