Dhir & Dhir Associates represented MB Power before the Hyderabad Civil Court in a matter under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliat on Act, 1996. Coastal Projects had obtained an ex parte ad interim stay against invocation of Bank Guarantee issued by State Bank of India in favour of MB Power from Hyderabd City Civil Court in 2016 in a petition under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The firm represented MB Power, seeking vacation of the interim order and dismissal of the Petition. The Court finally vacated the interim order and dismissed the Section 9 petition as being not maintainable. SBI had also initiated proceedings against Coastal Projects before NCLT, Kolkata under the provisions of IBC, however, on account of breach on part of Coastal Projects, MB Power invoked the Bank Guarantees and the same were duly honoured by SBI.

The firm advised and assisted MB Power even at the stage of invocation of Bank Guarantee and due honouring of the same by SBI. The team was led by Sachin Gupta, Partner along with Varsha Banerjee, Associate Partner.
